Due to the amount of bogus membership request for comments on the site, I’ve started a Yahoo Group for discussion about the streaming audio and data for KTLH. I’ve had several discussions via email with folks interested in this so I thought a group discussion would be a good media for this.
You can join the group by going here.

Yep alas… we have new antenna mounted on top of the Four Points Sheraton (not sure why they call it Four Points). We encountered some interference of the 450 Mhz trunking systems since the control channels transmit 24/7. Here is a screen shot of a plane north of Auburn AL (going from Orlando to Minneapolis) so I think that the range is acceptable! Tallahassee is in the lower right, follow the purple line to the aircraft, then look on the left for the lat/long data. Normally the aircraft is in yellow but since I clicked on it for this demo it’s in red.

Where am I?
Where am I?
In addition to providing streaming voice, i’ll be adding ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast ) data shortly. This will provide real-time data of aircraft within 200nm of Tallahassee (KTLH). You will be able to see the aircraft on a map and it will include data such as:
Most services on the web (such as FlightAware.Com) show FAA filtered data, delayed by 5 minutes or more. The data feed provided by KTLH.NET and others post real-time data provided by receivers that capture the data in real time that is transmitted by the aircraft (and also captured by the FAA ground stations) and routed to services that provide real-time map display such as www.fightradar24.com (FR24).
I’m currently feeding FR24 data as T-KTLH3 (there is a 1 & 2 already) from a test location. In the works is the location of the receiver downtown at a height of 250ft which should provide reception of 300nm and greater. Currently I’m receiving about 200nm to the north.
If you would like to read all the technical details, you can click here for more information.
